International Transfer Courses

  • Prospective Undergraduate Students - International
A prospective student with international transfer courses must apply for admission to UMD and be admitted as a degree seeking student before the transfer evaluation process can begin.

    Beginning Fall 2018

All degree-seeking undergraduate applicants for admission to the University of Maryland for Fall 2018 or after are required to submit an official credential evaluation for ALL international post-secondary transcripts from one of the two evaluators:

To ensure all transfer courses the student completed will be posted to the student’s University of Maryland record, a FINAL official transcript in the original-language and a literal (exact) certified English translation must be submitted to the University of Maryland after all coursework has been completed.

On occasion, a student may be required to provide an updated official credential evaluation. This would be in cases (not limited to):

    • when the student earned a bachelor’s degree since the credential evaluation
    • a significant number of coursework was completed that is not listed on the credential evaluation
    • there are discrepancies between the transcripts provided to the credential evaluator and the University of Maryland
  • Newly Admitted Undergraduate Students - International
For transfer work prior to enrollment at UMD
Also for current students with transfer work prior to enrollment at UMD
  • Education Abroad
(Includes ALL current students taking courses at any international institution)
